Type of challenge information

  • A Unstructured problem (wicked problem):the problem is broadly formulated and students can explore the problem in more depth. A subproblem can be chosen and ideas for it can be persued and developed. E.g.: 'How do we make healthcare understandable to all inhabitants of Ghent?'
  • A structured problemthe problem is largely defined but the solution can be approached from different angles. Students can devise and work out creative solutions without many constraints. E.g.: 'How do we make sure that non-native Gentenaars know the difference between the GP out-of-hours service and emergency?'
  • A Assignment: a clearly defined assignment where it is clear in advance what the problem is and what type of solution needs to be developed. Students can show limited creativity in developing the solution. E.g.: 'Develop a multilingual communication campaign to clarify the difference between emergency and general practice.'

Studiegebieden informatie

Het studiegebied geeft het soort studierichting aan. Deze zijn dezelfde als de interessegebieden in de studiekiezer. Neem daar een kijkje als je wil weten welke studierichtingen met welk gebied verbonden zijn. 

UGent Netwerk

(Inter)nationale netwerken waar UGent deel van is en waar een vak of uitdaging in betrokken is:

  • ENLIGHT: ENLIGHT is een netwerk met 9 Europese partners en verenigt de Universiteit van het Baskenland (ES), de Universiteit van Bordeaux (FR), de Comenius Universiteit in Bratislava (SK), de Nationale Universiteit Ierland in Galway (IE), Universiteit Gent (BE), de Universiteit van Göttingen (DE), de Rijksuniversiteit Groningen (NL), de Universiteit Tartu (EE) en de Universiteit van Uppsala (SE).  Zij bundelen de krachten als universitaire alliantie om structureel te gaan samenwerken op vlak van onderwijs en onderzoek. ENLIGHT staat voor “European university Network to promote equitable quality of Life, sustaInability and Global engagement through Higher education Transformation”.
  • StartForFuture: Start for Future is een programma dat door verschillende Europese universiteiten samen ontwikkeld werd en versterkt wordt door EUAcceL, het Tandem+ consortium, EIT Urban Mobility en EIT Manufacturing. Het is een open alliantie tussen de academische wereld, start-ups, de industrie en publieke organisaties die innovatie stimuleren. 

Period

  • 1ste semester: opleidingsonderdeel georganiseerd in de periode die loopt van september tot en met januari. De examenperiode valt in januari
  • 2de semester: opleidingsonderdeel georganiseerd in de periode die loopt van februari tot en met juni. De examenperiode valt in juni
  • Jaarvak: Opleidingsonderdeel dat over de twee semesters van eenzelfde academiejaar heen loopt
  • Andere: Project, initiatief, summer school… georganiseerd buiten het academiejaar of tijdens een andere periode
